As we enter into the Fall semester, we are feeling out of sorts. Yes, obviously because we are in the midst of a pandemic but also we typically jump into Fall after camp and with a ton of momentum as we eagerly plan out the first song we will sing at the first Club (usually Lean On Me or the Rappin Bog). But this Fall will be different. The pace is going to be slower. The program elements will be minimal. It's not our normal style but when Young Life is at its best, it is a relational ministry committed to introducing teenagers to Jesus Christ and help them grow in their faith. That will not stop- even with the obstacles that we may face.
I wanted to share a few snap shots of some recent moments and highlights.
Please continue to pray for us as we navigate this season. Holding on to the Lord's promise found in Lamentations 3:
The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.
Each day, we need His mercy. Rooted by the steadfast love and faithfulness of the Lord.
Leaders showing up for YL Kids in ways that can affect the whole family -- something that is not new but always encouraging to see. Grateful for our leaders' commitment to showing up from kids even at a distance during this time.
Also, check out this group of YL folks getting their FIT CREW on together. A praise report I have shared over and over through this pandemic is how sweet our community of our YL Fam is who enjoy spending time together!
We hope you enjoyed the Zoom Party! Looking forward to the next time we can gather face to face and continue to celebrate all the Lord is doing.
Also, if you missed Blue's Some Good YL News, or want to watch it again, CLICK HERE! Woot.
Sorry for the lack of Board's Board posts.. I'm not even sure if anyone has thought to check it anyways. I have three photos to share and I think they capture the state of the mission (sort of) and how we are doing.
But before I share those - if you or your family need anything at all - PLEASE reach out and allow us to serve you.
1. ZOOMING - We are in full on Zoom mode and have enjoyed the ability to stay connected with our leaders and teenagers as we have hosted Zoom Clubs, Campaigners, Lunchroom Hangouts, and Game Nights! It feels way different than what we are use to but we have been able to open the Bible, pray, and just check in with kids to see how they are doing.
2. "Showing Up" - As we try to redefine what showing up looks like from digital platforms, we have seen the Lord "show up" and work through this ministry. Here is a text message a leader got yesterday after just reaching out to a YL kids to check on how they were doing.
3. BOLO - Be on the lookout for the masked Publix ladies who are on the hunt for more toilet paper!! I hope #3 gives you a second to laugh because we all need some laughs right now.
16 high school girls showed up for AM Campaigners on Tuesday morning at Panera! Woot.
